China earthquake, Mynamar Cyclone

1. Continue to keep the people in Sichun province in prayers. Many children/youths have lost their parents and families during the earthquake. Pray for comfort during this time of loss. Till date, there are more than 68,000 deaths.
   
   
2. Continue to pray for the people in Mynamar. The government there have allowed international aids to help the victims of the cyclone. Pray for the smooth aid work in Mynamar. Till date, 133,000 people dead and missing in total.

3. The Youth Ministry is sending a team to church planting site in Kukup for a prayer-sharing camp on 13-14 June 2008. Pray for the missionary work that will be done during this camp and the preparations of the hearts of each team member before going for the camp. The leaders leading this camp will be Bro Francis ( 导师）and Sis Yii Han.
   
   
4. Pray for the preparations of the various upcoming events by the Youth Fellowship. This includes the chalet ( 16-18 Jun 2008) , Youth Sunday program preparations -bros and sisters serving in the 2 services, special item by the youths ( 20 Jul 2008) , Worship Night ( 16 Aug 08)
   
5. Pray for the preparations of the year end youth camp. ( More details will be provided at a later date)
   
6. Sis Yisin ( Timothy Grp) will be baptised tomorrow ( 1st June). Continue to pray for her as she continues in her walk with God.
   
   
   Synod Youth Ministry ( 长老大会青年事工)
   
7. Continue to keep the Synod Musical in prayers, the preprations etc. Pray that fellow bros and sis will bring at least a non-christian to this musical event so that they will know the great and mighty God.

The bible says " Again, I tell you that if two of you on earth agree about anything you ask for , it will be done for you by my Father in heaven. For where two, or three come together in my name, there am I with them" Matthew 18: 19-20

Prayer requests

Some urgent prayer requests:

1. Earthquake in major states in Si Chuan and Southwest China. Pray for the safety of the people in China. Our sister XiaoYu's family is in safe hands.

   The civil affairs ministry, cited by Xinhua, said that as at
   6:00 pm (1000 GMT), nearly four hours after the quake struck, 107 people had been confirmed dead and 34 injured in Sichuan and neighbouring Gansu and Yunnan
   provinces.

   To date (14 May 08), death toll is more than 15,000.

2. Cyclone Nargis struck Myanmar on 2 May 2008, leaving at least 28.458 dead an 33,416 people missing. Continue to pray for the people and those who have lost their loved ones. Continue to pray that the aids from countries round the world are able to reach the victims and the people of Myanmar. For those who wished to donate or help in any form, my school ( SIM) together with the 3 local universities is having donation drive to help the people of Myanmar. As we see the many disasters happening in countries like Myanmar and China, we should be thankful that we are living in a safe country. Many of children lost their family members and parents. We might be able to do much to help the victims and their family. As Christians, let's take a moment and put these people into our prayers. That will be the best thing we can do.

THE HUNDREDTH POST

YEAH!!!okie..this is the 100th post.CONGRATULATIONS!hehe..anyway just a reminder that the contest is still on and ooo...faster it's ending soon!! in matter of weeks!!!hehe.. :)

anyway do continue to pray for each other because of school or exams, holidays, work, whatever you can think of.

also, pray for the preparation of the upcoming chalet in june 16-18.

prayer work wonders

This coming Sunday is not only International Mother's Day. But its also the Global Day of Prayer. This year, Global Day of Prayer ( GDOP) Singapore 2008 is held at th National Indoor Stadium on the 11th May. There are 2 services. 1 at 3pm ( Chinese service) another at 730pm ( English service). Do try to go for this event if can besides celebrating Mother's Day with your mum. Prayer works wonders ! Even if you are not going for the event, take time to pray for your family,friends, your church, christians in Singapore and all over the world, your country-Singapore, Pray for the people in Myanmar ( many died during a recent typhoon). Always remember prayer works wonders.

God's grace make everything possible. He made you care for people who needs care and concern.
so when you feel like you're in despair, remember someone will be there to care, your friend or best friend. but the person who will never leave you is Jesus. :)

heyo ppl, i finally finished reading ROMANS!! woohooo!! so chim man! ok lah not chim per se, but it's just that thr's a lot of wat i would say are christian fundamentals in thr that the amt of stuff i jot down is indeed a sheer lot! just wanna share a few here with you ppl my thots along the past 2 weeks while reading:

chap 8: 28 - '我们晓得万事都互相效力，叫爱神的人得益处...'
How true it is that all things that happen work together! even what may seem wrong in our eyes is indeed what will be a tool in completing His perfect plan! :)

chap 8: 38-39 - 'For I am convinced that neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord.'
Do you feel that God seems to be very far and His love is no longer showered upon you?

chap 1: 12 - 'that is, that you and I may be mutually encouraged by each other's faith'
Indeed, do we draw comfort from the faith of those around us, from our friends? or do we engage in pointless conversation and neglect about our faith?

Do we talk to each other and encourage each other with verses?

May our tuanqi/peixun be a place where we will always find comfort and strength, a place where we know everyone else will be there for us. :)
