GUM logo contest 2009

Hi all!

updates for the GUM logo contest 09. Up till 26th Feb 09, we received only 1 entry. We urged all youths to participate actively in this contest. Some of us may think that its kinda of hard to think of a logo for the contest, but it should be an easy task when everyone in a class comes together to think and brainstorm of ideas. The benefits of this contest is just as to build up teamwork in the ministry as well as creating a sense of belonging towards the ministry. Its a contest for youths by youths. The GUM media team looks forward to receive more participation!

We will be updating this space once every month to RECAP the new songs that you have sung in pei xun for the past month, so DO TAKE NOTE! ;D
P.S worship sessions at pei xun will start at 10am sharp so do come punctually yea! and every alternate week, we will be playing a new song at 9.55am before the worship,so do come early! ;D

Synod Youth Games day 2009

For interested youths to participate in the above games day 2009, approach Sis Stellicia for details.

Prayer

Hi all!

Please pray for the 4th Synod Youth Leadership camp 2009 held at Bethel Presbyterian church from 20th-21st February 2009.

1) Speakers for camp

Pray for the speakers for the camp namely Rev Jimmy Tan (theme speaker) and workshop speaker, Rev Dr Danny Goh, of Singapore Bible College. Pray for wisdom for the speakers that the sermons will be of beneficial to the youth leaders.

2) Pastors in charge of games and devotion

Also pray for Pr.Wilson who is leading the night games and Pr Foo Yuk Yee of ARPC who is leading the morning devotion on Saturday.


3) Worship leading

Do pray also for Sis Wan Jie and her worship team who are leading worship on Saturday morning.

4) All youth leaders

Most importantly, pray for all the youth leaders from GPC and other churches who are attending the camp. Pray that what was learned may be applied back in our churches. Pray for a heart of desire to learn the Word and humble in learning.

4th Synod Youth Leadership Camp 2009

Hi all!

For those who are attending the Synod Youth Leadership Camp 2009 held at Bethel Presbyterian church (长老会伯特利堂), do note that there will be transport provided from church. Please be at church before 545pm. Bus leave by 545pm.


For those who are going on your own or unable to make it on time to take the transport, below is the map and the buses/mrt to take to the church.

Directions:
Bus Stops A, B and C: 100, 107, 135, 133, 147, 853
Bus Stop D: 28, 93, 153
Bus Stop E: 13, 28, 93, 153, 155

Nearest MRT station is Serangoon MRT station.

For things to bring list:

Bible 圣经
- Writing materials, note-book, etc. 书写材料，笔记本等
- Personal Medications (if any) 个人服食药物 （若有）
- Clothes enough for two days 两天用的衣服
- Wind-breaker, sweater, or jacket (optional) 挡风衣，毛衣或夹克（若有需要）
- One set of outdoor attires 一套外出的衣服
- Sport shoes or sandals (for outdoor activity) 户外使用的运动鞋或拖鞋
- Bathing and cleaning necessities (tooth-brush, tooth paste, shower gel, soap, towel, etc.)
- 冲洗必备之用品（牙刷，牙膏，沐露液，香皂，毛巾 等等）
- Slippers to use in the showers 洗澡所用之拖鞋- Individual sleeping bags 个人睡包 (no mattress will be provided) 没有供应床褥
- At least one set of clothes for over-night stay 至少一套过夜穿之衣服

MISUSE OF TAGBOARD

i assume everyone knows that our blog has a tagg board but the gum media team feels that people have been misusing the tagg board, people often use it as a MSN - meaning using it jus to chat with the people. I agree that tagg board is used to write words but relevant ones please. people usually write e.g. "hi blahblah erm wanna go snowcity" or something.. i dun think that is a good way of tagging, u can try e.g. "hi erm i am zhengyang here to tagg" or something, so try not to misuse it, but come here every day ok? (=
p/s: i think dat i am speaking in a very harsh tone or a strict manner, but no offence i jus dun wan people to misuse it. haha, anyway i am frendly. hahas!

A very very special photo montage!

As you all know and mentioned during 培训 a few weeks ago, the GUM media Team photographers are moving around during youth bible school and youth fellowship to take individual photos of every youth last week, this week and the upcoming weeks! :) The purpose of taking indvidual photos is for a special montage that will be unveil to you during the launch of the new GUM logo and a magazine launched during youth sunday in July this year! sO, we hope that if you see a photographer snapping at U, dont cover your face! This very special montage is based on faces of youths in GUM. So, show us your very very natural smile ya! We will take super super natural shots, so if YOU want to pose at the cameras, we would be willing to take photos for U! And finally, have a great week ahead!

HEY everyone! Chinese New Year is about to end isn't it sad )= hahas any resolutions for this year of new year wishes?? FOR me yes i have lots of it but the most important resolutions i have now is to wish every one will hand in a design of the logo to me i would be so happy if i have this wish come true...Everyone pls do a design and hand to me deadline is around 1 or 2 more weeks so come on!
